On August 1, 2000 in the center of Europe, in the capital of Belarus - city of Minsk-we restored the ancient national Azerbaijan cuisine and opened the island of ancient Azerbaijan culture. This was restaurant “Astara” that invited Minsk inhabitants and guests of the capital. During two years of its existence the restaurant developed its traditions, formed its style and earned its regular visitors. Among the latter one can find the representatives of foreign countries, businessmen from foreign and CIS countries, higher officials of the capital, famous Belarusian sportsmen, writers, artists and of course common amateurs of ancient Belarusian cuisine, that value its delicious dishes. At the present time “Astara” is a true center of Azerbaijan culture in Minsk. we celebrate all holidays of Azerbaijan culture, and for that we conduct spectaculars performances with participation of actors and artists specially invited from the Republic Azerbaijan for the occasions. For the first time in Belarus in December 2001 we conducted the festival of Arabic dancing “Oriental sweets” in which the best dancers - representatives of the school of oriental dancing - took part. On December 18, 2002 “Astara” restaurant” organized the second national festival “Oriental sweets - 2002” that means that the celebration of oriental dancing becomes traditional. In September 2001, the restaurant presented Azerbaijan culture and unforgettable Astara cuisine at the national festival-fair “Dazhynki -2001” in Mozyr, and was awarded with honorable diploma and prize. “Astara” actively participates in all major fair conducted in Minsk, providing nice oriental shashlik and other dishes of Azerbaijan cuisine to its guests.
